Our video transcription software „f4 video“ is free of charge and has been available since August 1, 2007. „f4video“ supports you in transcribing video-files, no matter if mpg or avi, or let you transcribe immediately from DVD - what makes it the only free software solution for video transcriptions worldwide. „f4 video“ runs on Windows Vista, XP, and 2000. No installation is necessary, simply download it and double-click to start.

Like our well-known audio solution „f4 audio “, „f4 video“ offers variable playback speed (not available for DVD yet), automatic rewind interval and controls every application by either key-combination or our footswitch „f-pro“. You write in Word for instance and control „f4 video“ by key-combination or footswitch.

How it works

Download „f4 video“ and double-click to open it (no installation necessary!). Open a video file or a DVD with command „DATEI“ in the menu and ajust rewind interval, volume, and speed. Write straight in Word or any other program and control the playback with CTRL+1 and CTRL+2 or our footswitch.

Language settings

In the lower right you find a button "DE". By klicking here you can switch to english language.

Footswitch control

The „f-pro “ single-key footswitch is our own development and makes a use considerably quick and easy (10-30% faster). Only a single „foot-click“ is enough to control start, stop and rewind.

Key-combination control

You control the playback with key-combinations CTRL+1 (start) and CTRL+2 (stop). For winding, just mouse-click on the corresponding buttons or adjust the timebar.

Rewind interval

When stopping the playback, an automatic, short rewind is crucial for a fluent transcription. When starting to write again, you listen to the last two/three words and so have a better writing fluency. You set up the interval by adjusting a bar controller.

„f4 video“ has been developed by dr. dresing & pehl GmbH. f4 video has been available for downloading since August 2007. We are now working on the new version f4media which will be relased in august 2009.
