Using our affordable foot pedals makes you up to 30% faster when transcribing interviews, movies or dictations. Our foot pedals are as easy to use as the foot pedals from the days of tape recorders and you simply connect them to your Windows PC or Macintosh computer via USB. All of our foot pedals come with a 3-year guarantee. For the development of the USB foot pedals, we were awarded with the “Hessischer Gründungspreis”, a German business start-up award, in 2009.

This is how our foot pedals work: Plug in the foot pedal, download & install our free transcription software, f4 (Win) or f5 (Mac). Use f4 or f5 to open your audio or video file. When pushing down the foot pedal, the file will begin playing. When you lift your foot off of the pedal, the recording pauses and automatically rewinds in a small, customizable interval. Tapping on the foot pedal repeatedly rewinds the recording. You can transcribe your data directly in f4, f5 or in any word processing program of your choice.

*f4 for Windows PCs plays all video and audio files which can be opened in the VLC media player (version 1.1.11). f5 for Macs plays all audio and video files which can be opened in the Quicktime player. The ‘science’ and ‘office’ models of our pedals can also be used to control programs such as Express Scribe.

Science II is comfortable to use and affordable, which makes it the ideal tool for anyone transcribing audio or video data. It is compatible with Macintosh and Windows computers. With f4 (version 4.2 and above) or f5 (version 1.5 and above) installed on your computer, simply plug it in and begin transcribing. You can use the foot pedal in f4, f5 or when transcribing in word processing software.
