Institution-wide use: f4 can be installed on all Windows and Mac computers of your institute or the entire university as well as on private devices of your students and employees.
Flexible license models: Choose between rental or purchase licenses, each with options for a maximum of 10, 20 or all persons assigned to the university.
Central license allocation and reliability: A license server on your premises enables simultaneous use, provided users are connected to it (e.g. via VPN or in the university network). In addition, you will receive 25 short-term licenses as a security backup for quick distribution by e-mail for special cases.
Personalization: Your f4 software is individualized with the name of your university or institute. You receive personalized app bundles for Windows and macOS that can be distributed and installed directly.

Technical requirements & installation

License server

Installation on a Windows computer (from Windows 7/Windows Server 2008), communication via TCP port 33911, no further requirements regarding RAM or memory.

Network connection

An IPv4 network is required. Users require access to the license server via the intranet or VPN.

Simple setup

In just three steps: copy, set up the background service and TCP port and start the license server. The f4 software can be installed via silent installation.

Network licenses for f4 in detail

How many devices can the software be installed on?

The network license allows a flexible installation of f4 on all computers of the institution and private devices, whereby only the number of simultaneous users is limited.

What technical requirements are necessary?

A license server must be installed in the desired intranet on a computer with a fixed IPv4 address. The server runs as a Windows background service and communicates with the software via TCP port 33911. Users must be in the network or logged in via VPN.

How does the installation work?

They receive individualized app bundles with the name of their institution. These can be installed via the intranet or automated software distribution. It is recommended to provide a description page for all users.

Is automatic transcription included?

No. Automatic transcription is charged separately according to the amount of material. Hour quotas can be purchased as codes and thus distributed flexibly. Users can also buy their own contingents in the store.
