The AI features in f4 help you interpret specific passages of text. They are available in analysis mode. The AI features are included in your license at no additional cost.
NOTE
To use any AI features, you must log in with your f4 account. This is the same account you use for automatic transcription (log in via the “Login” section in the lower-left corner). Requests to the language models are routed through servers in Europe, excluding U.S. providers or their subsidiaries; the transmitted content is neither stored nor used for training (see 2.4.3).
With AI Impuls, you’ll receive an output consisting of three interconnected sections based on a highlighted text passage and your own interpretation: Validation Impulse, Falsification Impulse, and Synthesis Impulse. The validation prompt takes your interpretation as far as the wording allows. The impulse to falsify develops an interpretation of the same identified anomaly that is grounded in the material but contrary to it. The “Synthesis Prompt” uses open-ended questions to guide you back to your own analysis of the passage and then allows you to record your thoughts on it in a note about that section of the text. The method is based on Serendipity Prompting (https://www.audiotranskription.de/ressourcen/serendipity/).
Select the desired section of text. A small box labeled “AI” appears directly behind the marker. Click on it and select “AI Impulse” from the menu. You will then be asked to enter your own interpretation of the passage.
A blue box appears below the text. In it, the validation pulse, falsification pulse, and synthesis pulse appear in that order. Review the wording of the three suggestions and decide for yourself which ones to adopt, modify, or reject.
You can also create a regular memo for the same text passage. In it, you record your own analysis and the interpretation that stems from it. The memo is written by you and is not automatically generated by the LLM.
NOTE
Each text passage can have at most one AI prompt. In addition, you can create a regular memo for the same entry to jot down your own ideas and thoughts on the prompt.
Click on the underlined text in the prompt. An information box opens. Click the trash can icon there to delete the note (just like deleting a memo).
With AI Dialog, you can conduct an iterative interpretation session for a text passage using three language models (LLMs). The LLMs provide suggested interpretations, and you moderate the dialogue. The method is based on the approach ofhttps://www.audiotranskription.de/ressourcen/hybrides-interpretieren/.
Select the desired text and click the “AI” field behind the selection. Select “AI Dialog” from the menu.
The text passage opens in the “AI Dialog” tab (the third tab from the left; you can also access it by pressing Ctrl/Cmd+F3). The three LLMs begin to develop proposed interpretations. You can ask questions, make comments, and in this way gradually deepen your understanding of the interpretation.
In the left column, below the list of texts, you’ll find the list of current AI dialogs. Here you can find sample dialogs:
The AI dialogs are saved along with your project in the .project file.
The recorded conversations can be exported as a Word file, along with the corresponding prompts and detailed model specifications. To do this, click the Export icon on the toolbar and select “AI Documentation” (see Chapter 6).
